Deep Purple MK 4 kicked off their “Come Taste The Band” trek in Honolulu, Hawaii on November 8 1975. They spent about a week there and everybody that has ever commented on this period has had nothing but good things to say about it. Tommy Bolin fitted in well and the band had the balls to perform a good chunk of the new album from day one. These guys were not there to live on nostalgia alone, they had a fresh exciting band to present to the masses, and they certainly had the attitude needed to win. Also, they travelled with girlfriends – it was a good time to be a part of Deep Purple. Happy vibes.

Considering the fact that the band spent a week there, with rehearsals and a huge concert to boot, I am pretty sure that there must exist unknown material on film, or from radio at the very least. I have heard things that point in that direction, so let us hope that we will get to see some stuff from this visit some day. If anybody can confirm, please let me know.
